Anunciada Velha is located strategically due to its proximity, in a radius of 70 km, to cities of historic, religious and landscape interest such as Tomar, Ourem, Fátima, Grutas de Minde, Batalha, Alcobaça, Nazaré, Óbidos, Santarém, Golegã, Castelo de Bode, Constância and the National Park of "Paul do Boquilobo" in Torres Novas.  Short sightseeing visits to these cities are offered on a daily basis.



If you are mainly interested in relaxing you can do just that by staying by the swimming pool next to the vineyard or taking long strolls through the countryside which is still quite unspoilt and bucolic.  The city of Tomar is just 4 km away where you can ride a horse or have a pleasant meal at one of the many restaurants available.

Casa dos Arrábidos is an estate that had its origin an old monastery of Franciscanos Arrábidos friars who came here in the XVI century, building a small monastery, a chapel, some annexes, stone fences, as well as the garden and orchard that served the monastery.

Casa dos Arrábidos is built taking advantage remains of the monastery and, although the interior is furnished with all modern comfort, the owners have been concerned with taking advantage of the original lines, not destroying or hiding any historical vestige, but rather, taking advantage and highlighting all original elements.

Here our guests are able to enjoy in the interior of; 5 double rooms of welcoming atmosphere, with private bath-rooms and central heating; a lounge of open arches over the garden, with fireplace, television and snooker; an old friar's cell adapted as toys-room for the children and a little room with cellar that serves as support to the above mentioned lounge.

The exterior is perfectly integrated with the house and has the trace of simplicity and frugality that characterizes the spirit of the place and at the same time is an invitation to rest and to communicate with nature.

Of this exterior that extends from the front of the house, four zones are worth mentioning; the lawn with gardened or wooded zones near the library and lounge; the swimming pool with about 15x5m and the vegetable garden, orchard, animal zone and olive orchard up to the boundary of the estate, where can be found a small hermitage dating from the time of the friars, with a vaulted ceiling, niche, stone banks and water spring.

CASAL DO GIL DE CIMA

The “Casal do Gil de Cima” is a rural house of the 19th. Century, typical of Estremadura, surrounded by vineyards and orchards. Our house was part of a great agricultural property with headquarters in a neighboring municipality and that had several support houses to the agricultural lands spread by a vast area. This was one of those houses that remains in the same family for more than one century. We have 3 double rooms with private bathroom and 1 single room decorated with the simplicity of a rural house, but with all the comfort. We are very well located, because we are only 6 Km of the exit of the highway A8 (Torres Vedras-Centro), 12 Km of Santa Cruz's beautiful beach and very close to important tourist points as the beautiful medieval villa of Óbidos, the Serra de Montejunto and its Royal Ice Factory and apart from that, the capital, Lisboa, is at only 35 minutes by highway. For all those reasons, please visit us!
